Tour of the Alps 2025: the cycling spectacle reaches the mountains of Tyrol, Alto Adige, and Trentino

From April 21 to 25, the Alps will witness a new edition of the Tour of the Alps, with the last three champions on the starting line, 16 international teams, five spectacular stages, and global television coverage.

Trento, April 9, 2025 – Everything is ready for one of the most exciting events on the international cycling calendar, where Caffè Italiano Bocca della Verità enters as a major sponsor this year. The 2025 Tour of the Alps , heir to the historic Giro del Trentino, returns from April 21 to 25 to offer five days of top-level cycling , crossing three regions united by their passion for this sport: Tyrol (Austria), Alto Adige and Trentino (Italy).

A star-studded lineup : reigning champion Juan Pedro López (Lidl-Trek) will defend his crown against two former winners, Romain Bardet (2022) and Tao Geoghegan Hart (2023). Other big names at the start include Giulio Ciccone, Felix Gall, Jai Hindley, Hugh Carthy, Chris Froome, and Spaniards Iván Romeo and David de la Cruz.

Spain is in the spotlight with Juanpe López leading a powerful Lidl-Trek team, and fans are waiting to see if the Sevillian can repeat his victory in this demanding mountain race, the perfect prelude to the Giro d'Italia.

Five stages, three countries, one passion

The 48th edition of the Tour de France starts in the charming village of San Lorenzo Dorsino , one of Italy's "most beautiful towns," and concludes on April 25 in Lienz, Austria , after climbing legendary climbs such as Campo Carlo Magno and Passo del Durone . The five stages total nearly 750 km and over 15,000 meters of accumulated elevation gain, creating a race suitable only for the strongest.

A career that goes beyond sport

The Tour of the Alps is not just about competition: it's also about culture, sustainability, and social commitment. This year, the event will pay tribute to Sara Piffer , a promising young Italian cyclist who tragically passed away in January, with a special ceremony on April 22 in Mezzolombardo, calling for greater safety for road cyclists.

In addition, initiatives such as Ride&Dunk with Aquila Basket Trento or the virtual platform Rouvy LiveUphill Challenge allow fans from all over the world to experience #TotA from the inside, even from home.

Live broadcast in more than 100 countries

Thanks to a partnership with Infront Sports & Media, the Tour of the Alps will offer two hours of live coverage daily on Rai, Eurosport, and more than 100 other broadcasters in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. In France, it will be broadcast by L'Équipe TV, in the US by FloSports, and, for the first time, it will also be broadcast in Israel.

A commitment to the future with great allies

Among the new features of this edition is the addition of Caffè Italiano Bocca della Verità as a sponsor. With strong financial and logistical support, it will also bring its coffee to the cyclists and teams during the five days of competition. Relying on its special "HERMES" blend for athletes, it will help the athletes during their tough days during the Tour. The group of sponsors is completed by several others that will provide technical support, such as Vittoria , which will once again be in charge of the neutral assistance service during the race, and Alé Cycling , responsible for the design of the official jerseys. In addition to Melinda , there are Gruppo Cassa Centrale , Würth , FORST , and innovative companies such as Bazr , Axpo , and FantaCycling , which will allow fans to compete virtually with their own fantasy teams.
